All About Pack 621

Pack 621 is a growing pack with a lot of heart and passion to create a safe and fun environment where our boys can explore the world and learn to be the citizens and leaders of tomorrow. The Pack was established in 2016, and we are chartered by St Thomas the Apostle Church, in Peabody, MA.  Our Pack, and its faithful implementation of the BSA program, results in an exceptionally high Scout retention rate both with new Scouts and older Scouts. We are centered around the Scout Law – meaning that a successful Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent.

Our meetings consist of weekly Den meetings, one Pack meeting per month, and various other adventures that we hold throughout the year.  Although these meetings help your Scout grow and achieve the goals for rank. Attendance at all of these meeting is not required, but highly encouraged.  Usually Scouts are working on one of their required goals during each Den/Pack meeting.  During the summer, there are many opportunities to go to Summer Camps and Fun Pack events.

Our large Pack Meetings are primarily on a Tuesday during the month and are generally held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. We also have several Annual Pack Events; such as Pinewood Derby, several Camp Outs, Rain Gutter Regatta, and so much more.

Our Den Meetings are scheduled to best fit the needs of the families in that group.  Den meetings are normally held at Bishop Fenwick High School, Peabody, MA. Becoming an active member of the pack as a parent means you get to help influence and plan when some of these events may take place.

The number one objective of the Pack is to make sure that your Scout and family are safe. To that end, all of our leaders are required to take Youth Protection Training and parents are highly encouraged to take this training as well. We adhere to the two-deep leadership rule where no adult is ever alone with a child that isn’t theirs. Lion & Tiger Scouts must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all events and meetings.  All of these policies are of paramount importance to us and we do not take this responsibility lightly.

Our next objective is to have fun.  We play, we laugh, we learn. In order for the Pack to be as Fun and productive as it can be PARENT PARTICIPATION AND VOLUNTEERING IS NECESSARY. There are many events and ways to volunteer to help your Scout “Do Their Best”. Contact the Committee Chair to find out how You can help keep scouting fun.
